Service Description

Students will be required to purchase textbook, lab book and lab materials (as needed). A lab fee may be charged to students (TBD). Chemistry for Accelerated Students is an ideal text for students who love science and aspire to a STEM-oriented college program. This book contains up-to-date chemistry information, beautiful illustrations, and lucid narrative. It also supports Novare’s trademark mastery-learning paradigm. This accelerated text is a more intense treatment than Novare’s General Chemistry text. This text includes additional chapters on thermochemistry, chemical equilibrium, and a glimpse into organic chemistry. Ample exercises are included in each chapter giving students plenty of opportunity to develop skills. Although the mathematics involved in chemistry are generally not advanced, Chemistry for Accelerated Students is recommended for students who are concurrently enrolled in Algebra II. Chemistry course meets on campus 3-days per week for teacher-led instruction. Student is responsible for purchasing text book. Course grade will be received for completed homework, participation and test performance. Students are subject to Academy rules listed in Handbook. Refer to Academy Calendar for special events, holidays, and breaks. Full-time Academy students take this course. Only 4 positions are available as a single subject. Class size will not exceed 12 students. Please refer to school calendar for days the class meets throughout the program year.
